IFPHK Updates Financial Planning Practice Standards

 

Having adopted Financial Planning Standards Board’s Global Financial Planning Standards effective January 1, 2025, the Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong (IFPHK) has updated the Financial Planning Practice Standards.

 

The Financial Planning Practice Standards of Doing in the framework of Knowing-Doing-Being under the Global Financial Planning Standards establish the level of professional practice reasonably expected of financial planning professionals during financial planning engagements.

 

The updated Financial Planning Process comprises six elements, and each requires the application of related Financial Planning Core Practices to competently complete that element. There are twenty Financial Planning Core Practices, and each is supported by a Financial Planning Practice Standard, so as to establishing and defining the relationship with client, and applying to relevant to the financial planning engagement between client and financial planning professional.
